Watched a video on marketing your inventions. Solid content. You assignment for the successful entrepreneur's videos:

For each individual featured on a video write a paper. The paper has two parts: Part 1 should be about the personal character traits that made that entrepreneur successful, or ones that might have hindered their efforts. Part 2 is about the contributions they made to their industry specifically or to entrepreneurship in general.

Type it. One page per entrepreneur. Include a table of contents. Cute covers are nice-but no bonus points!

Today you got together in pairs (at least those of you who brought your product) and practiced closing techniques. We also determined the order of presentations. Bring your products on the 3rd. Presentations begin on the 7th.

After an abbreviated silent reading we discussed the purpose and timing of the close of the sale. Then you were given a handout that included an exercise about closing the sale. We will do a bit of role-playing next time. Be sure you have read Chapter 15.1. BRING YOUR PRODUCTS!

Placed a few orders and prepped for state test.

We followed silent reading with the Tom Hopkins video. Then each student was assigned the task of finding as many different closing techniques as possible on the computer. Copy the name and description of the closing technique.

Period 3-Advanced Marketing

After silent reading we talked about the Apple fanatics as customers. Then, as luck would have it, we watched our Successful Entrepreneur video on Steve Wozniak.

After silent reading we studied for the re-take of chapter 14. Hmmm. Most did better than the last time (which should be no surprise!). However, everyone did not do better than 80%. We watched a video by Tom Hopkins on selling. If you were paying attention—you picked up some good ideas for your presentation.

Period 7-Retail

You guys worked good as a group on studying for the state test. Make sure youget your packet done as well.

Period 8-Marketing

After silent reading we reviewed the worksheet. Then we looked at objections and overcoming objections. Followed this by getting into pairs and practicing answering objections. Finally, finished up with a quiz (one that indicates you guys do not read the chapter and/or study—most of you anyway.)

· After silent reading collect the assignment.
· Give them the handout called “Chapter 11 Management Skills” that is a Business Week Case Problem.
· After completing the Case Problem, Collect and hand out the quiz (may allow 5 minutes to look over notes if the clock says it is OK!) Correct in class if time permits. Key at back of folder.
ADVISORY-

· Administer the surveys (pick up in the main office in my mailbox)
